Student life: Pakistani Biryani vs Indonesian Nasi Goreng

January 22, 2022

My favourite part about meeting people and making new friends is cultural exchange. There is so much in this world to explore and experience and food stays on top of that list. Thanks to my friend Rossi from Indonesia who made delicious Nasi goring followed by a dessert by the name Biji Salak, I got a taste of Indonesia and I loved it.

But not that fast!

We Pakistanis are also quick to be hospitable and bring so many flavors of our own to the table. We had our Pakistani scholar; Aman Shah also treat us with his Biryani recipe and I haven’t been homesick ever since. Apart from experiences of growth and opportunities, we must embrace spaces of cultural exchange and represent our country to bring communities together and create harmony.

Spread the love
