A simple comment made on one of our posts made us realize the magnitude of our trip and how it affected everyone who heard about it. So we sat down to share our side of the story in a well-thought-out interview, matched with our snippets from the trip and the social media commentary that made us laugh, think, and question disability inclusion in travel from the lens of mobility.
Meet Afshan Afridi, a formidable activist hailing from the KPK region of Pakistan, who fearlessly advocates for the rights and well-being of women and girls with disabilities. Enter Zargoona Wadood, a brilliant legal mind from Balochistan, who has taken her passion to the global stage by working with the United Nations. Behold Tanzila Khan, an innovative entrepreneur from Punjab, Pakistan, revolutionizing menstrual healthcare and promoting inclusivity through her creativity.
United by their spirit and determination, these individuals navigate a journey to Egypt from the seat of a wheelchair to have fun, live, laugh, and build a strong case for disability inclusion in travel. Post-trip, they stirred the social media world, landed a PR deal with Pepsi Pakistan, and now share their own story through an 18-min documentary coming forward soon with a united call for action: MAKE TRAVEL MORE DISABLED FRIENDLY. WHERE THERE IS A WHEEL, THERE IS A WAY.
